We were driving up this winding road along the Kittatinny Mountains and the Delaware National Forest on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River… dreaming.
The ideal case scenario, I said, would be to have a site as a home base to spend time when we are not traveling, a place with your mountain view and my water view. Close enough to go anytime we want but far enough to feel like we are away from it all, Oscar replied. And just like that, our wish came true, literally… and I am not kidding when I say this.
We went to visit my friend at her campsite we walked around a little bit asked if there were any available and the told us there was one lot left in front of the lake. And there it was, we immediately fell in love. A couple of weeks later, we were moving into what we call Mountainview Camp-us. The location is Mountain Shadow Lake in Stillwater, New Jersey.
The place wasn’t perfect to be honest. It was the last one left because nobody had the vision we had. Some work went into leveling, gardening, and making it homey. The end result was so worth it because gave us a place we’ve enjoyed since the first day we parked our tiny house and office on wheels. Here is a glance at the transformation.
