Hitting the road with children in tow takes a little bit of planning. Well, the same goes for pets. Twister gets anxious when we travel, but he quickly falls asleep. Baron, on the other hand, stays on guard. It doesn’t matter how long we travel, he won’t sleep. One trip took us 14 hours and he was wide awake the entire time.
They are real troopers and have endured some strenuous hikes, cold nights and rainy days. During our last trip, it got so cold at night they couldn’t sleep until they were bundled in jackets and blankets. During the day, they got used to staying within eye sight, wandering around the wooded site, bathing in the cold water of the mountain stream, and eating what we had: Steak grilled in the open fire. What a life!
