Oswegatchie River, NY

Lean-to open cabins are common in the Adirondack mountains. In the outskirts of the Tug Hill Region in Lake Bonaparte and Black River you will find great fishing, camping, canoeing and hiking trails. The above lean-to faces the north branch of Oswegatchie River, near Harrisville. A little cold to camp in the spring but perfect for the summer months. The river has a brownish colored water due to iron deposits but its clean and with a good filtration system it is drinkable. Beware of mosquitos and happy camping!
