Gulf Shores, AL

After a two-day visit with a couple of wonderful friends from our base camp in New Jersey (Fred and Pat are now fulltime residents of The Great Outdors in Titusville, FL, and what a wonderful place that is), we finally made it to the Gulf Shores of Alabama. With a lagoon behind us and the gulf of Mexico in front, this place is beyond words!

After 1,795 travel miles, stopping at this state park was, without a doubt, the best decision we made since the begining of our journey. Reina’s comment upon coming into this camground was “I can move here year round!” and I have the feeling there is so mucb more to see. We’ve taken our scooter out for a spin, and there is so much to see and be part of from lots of biking and hiking trails, to exercise and yoga groups that get together at the pavillion in the mornings.

With limited time, we simply took advantage of our scooters to explore our surroundings (including a visit to “sweet cone Alabama”) and also had a chance to meet two wonderful ladies that stopped to inquire about our RV (the design is definitely a conversation piece!) and ended up inviting us their site to enjoy a wine cooler and shared with us their RV knowlledge and experience. We will definitely keep in touch with Carol and Theresa. Who knows, we may be able to meet them again as we make our way to Alaska in 2023 or 2024.

UPDATE

We liked Gulf State Park so much that Reina already make a reservation to spend a couple of months in Alabama next year!
